This blog is a rolling display of some of the internal thinking and research behind creating a mathematics curriculum based upon the Common Core State Standards. The group is dedicated to eradicating “Textbook School Mathematics” from the U.S. Curriculum–a defective body of mathematical knowledge that has taken hold in schools and is embedded into standard textbooks (See Hung-Hsi Wu’s description here).
To help us in building this curriculum, we are constantly consulting the following documents and websites for guidance:
- Common Core State Standards
- Progressions Documents for Common Core Math Standards
- K-8 Publishers’ Criteria for the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics
- Illustrative Mathematics
- PARCC Model Content Frameworks, Mathematics, Grades 3-11, v3.0
